Word to PDF converter
Turn a Word document into a PDF that opens the same way on every device — free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The conversion happens inside this page, on your own device, so your file is never uploaded.
Converted in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
How to convert Word to PDF
-
Choose your Word file
Drag the
.docxonto the box above, or click Choose Word file. It is read straight from your disk. -
Let it lay out
Your browser opens the document, sets it on A4 pages and captures each page into the PDF.
-
Save the PDF
The download starts on its own, ready to email, archive or send to a printer.
What you get — and what you do not
Your browser does the typesetting here rather than Word, which is what lets every script come out correctly. It also means the result is close to your document rather than identical to it. Where that line falls:
Comes across well
- Text colour, shading and highlighting
- Tables with their borders, cell shading and merged cells
- Images, and the fonts and type sizes you chose
- Lists with their own numbering and bullets
- Running headers, footers and page numbers
- Your page size, orientation and margins
- Arabic, Hebrew and Urdu, laid out right-to-left
- Devanagari, Tamil, Bengali and Chinese, correctly shaped
Does not come across
- Selectable text — pages are rendered as images
- Word's exact pagination and line breaks
- Comments, and footnotes, which move to the end
- Embedded fonts your device does not have, which are substituted
- Charts and SmartArt, which keep their space but not their drawing
- Old
.docfiles — save them as.docxfirst
Best used for
- Sending a CV that cannot be edited by accident
- Turning a letter or an offer into something you can email
- Freezing a report before it is circulated
- Handing a document to someone without Word
- Anything that needs to look the same on every screen
Your document stays on your device
Most free converters take a copy of your file, process it on a server and send
the result back — which puts a contract, a payslip or a signed offer on a
machine you do not control. This page never asks for that. The code that opens
your .docx and writes the PDF is downloaded to your browser and
runs there, so there is no upload endpoint, nothing is logged, and we could not
produce your document if someone asked us to.

ماڻھو جيڪي سوال پڇندا آھن
Is this Word to PDF converter free?
Yes. No account, no trial, no watermark and no cap on how many documents you convert. The work happens on your own computer, so there is no server cost behind it.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The .docx is opened by code running in your browser tab and the PDF is built in the same place. Nothing is sent to us, nothing is stored, and we never see the file. After the page has loaded you can go offline and it still works.
Will the PDF look like my Word document?
Yes. Colours, shading, highlighting, fonts and type sizes, tables with their borders and merged cells, images, lists, headers, footers and page numbers all come across, and the PDF uses the page size, orientation and margins the document was set up with. Exact pagination can still differ from Word, because your browser is doing the typesetting rather than Word's own layout engine. For a letter, a CV or a report the result is what you expect; for a document with precise print positioning, check it before sending it to a printer.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
Not directly — this tool reads .docx, the format Word has used since 2007. Open the .doc in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, and convert that.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
The pages are rendered as high-resolution images inside the PDF, so the text is not selectable. That is the trade-off that makes every language render correctly: the browser shapes Arabic, Devanagari and Chinese properly, which a PDF library driving its own fonts would not. If you need selectable text, exporting to PDF from Word itself is the better route.
Does it handle Arabic and other right-to-left documents?
Yes. Right-to-left documents are detected and laid out right-to-left, and the letters join correctly because the browser does the shaping.
How large a document can I convert?
Up to 25 MB. Each page is rendered and released before the next one is built, so a two-hundred-page document uses no more memory than a two-page one — it simply takes longer, because every page is drawn at high resolution before it goes into the PDF.
What page size do I get?
A4 portrait with even margins, which is the standard across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on iPhone and Android. Pick the file from your files or cloud storage app and the PDF lands in your downloads.
Handling documents at scale?
We build document pipelines, OCR and e-signature flows into business systems. If your team is converting files by hand, that is usually a sign something upstream can be automated.
